The 13" blade is forged to a hard spring temper from 1050 high carbon steel. Its 1 1/2" wide and comes fully sharpened and battle-ready, prepared to hew down any foe. The attractive Rosewood handle is capped with a contrasting blued-steel guard, bolster and disc-shaped pommel, and a handsome leather scabbard completes the package. The scabbard features an extra wide belt loop with a blued-steel throat and chape. The blades are hand forged high carbon ste3el and are differentially tempered using a traditional claying method to produce a HRC60 on the edge (ha) and a HRC40 on the back (mune) with a medium (chu) kissaki. The temper line (hamon) is authentic and prominent. The fittings (koshirae) are superbly antiqued adding to the aesthetics of the set. The saya is done in a deep black lacquer and the sageo is black Japanese cotton. The tsuka-ito is wrapped in synthetic leather with great gripping characteristics and imitation ray skin (same) is used. Cost savings are affected by using fittings, which, while making no claims to authenticity, are very strongly built to withstand the rigors of cutting exercises (tameshigiri).

The Practical Shinobi Ninja-to, whose construction patterns closely that of the Practical Katana, is a wonderful addition for those studying the Way of the Ninja. The blade is made of hand forged high carbon steel and is differentially tempered using a traditional claying method. All the fittings (koshirae) are done in antiqued black iron. The ornate tsuba displays the kuji-kiri (energy-channeling hand positions) employed by the mystical ninja. The tsuka is wrapped in a synthetic ray skin (same), available in black (SH2268) or white (SH1071), and the tsuka-ito is done in durable synthetic black leather. The saya had flat black finish with demon-head bindings for the black Japanese cotton sageo and an intricate kojiri on the end of the says. A sword no practitioner of Ninjutsu should be without.
