She is embellished with beads and a traditional feather mask to bring out the true holiday spirit. Moodi Gras was created by the wives of the 2006 Boston Red Sox. The initiative was led by the wife of pitching ace and Louisiana native Johnathan Papelbon as a show of support for the city of New Orleans in the wake of hurricane Katrina.
